A Team Built on Compassion
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation that consists of a loving team of mothers, attorneys, businessmen, U.S. veterans, sisters, and friends.
Our goal is to keep families together that have found themselves in a tight bind facing homelessness and to do all that we can to keep these families together under the same roof.
A Promise Made to a Child
We launched this foundation because we discovered that there were many children living in uninhabitable homes here in our city under our noses. One of the children that we spoke with, who was only 9 years old at the time, talked about being afraid to go to sleep at night because the roof would cave in at times.
After hearing this heartfelt story our Executive Director, Mitanni Spruill-LeSueur, made a promise to do all that she could to start a non-profit that was geared towards helping the poor. It is now our mission to reduce homelessness, provide shelter and to not have another little boy or girl afraid to sleep at night due to poor living conditions.
Our Mission
The mission of Community Living & Wellness Centers of America, Inc. is to combat homelessness, preserve family unity, restore dignity, and break the cycle of poverty by providing comprehensive housing assistance, essential living necessities, and life-changing supportive services to vulnerable families, veterans, children, youth, seniors, and individuals facing economic hardship.
We believe that no family should be torn apart because of financial instability, no veteran should face homelessness after serving our nation, and no child should be denied the opportunity to thrive because their family lacks access to safe housing, food, education, or basic necessities.
Our organization is committed to addressing both the immediate crises and underlying barriers that threaten housing stability and family well-being. Through homelessness prevention, housing stabilization, emergency assistance, food security initiatives, educational enrichment, workforce development, financial empowerment, wellness resources, and community-based support, we strive to equip underserved populations with the tools necessary to achieve lasting independence and economic mobility.
We place special emphasis on keeping families together, supporting veterans transitioning into stable civilian lives, empowering young adults aging out of foster care, and creating safe, supportive environments where children and families can flourish.
Through strategic partnerships with government agencies, community organizations, private-sector leaders, and philanthropic institutions, we seek to expand access to critical resources, reduce housing insecurity, strengthen communities, and create sustainable pathways from crisis to stability and from dependency to self-sufficiency.
Our mission extends beyond providing temporary relief. We are committed to building stronger families, preventing generational poverty, restoring hope, and creating communities where every individual has the opportunity to live with dignity, security, purpose, and a promising future.
Basic Necessities for a Healthy Life
Our mission is to help our impoverished neighbors with the basic necessities to live a healthy and fruitful life. We aim to provide shelter relief, educational outlets, job resources, hot meals, medicine, and many other life enriching services to those in need.
